South Africa’s most popular second hand cars have been revealed.
Autotrader, one of the country’s leading car sales website has released its list of car sales for the month of December, 2019. This data highlights the best selling new and used cars and how much they cost.
Once again, we see some overlap where certain models are both popular when they are brand new and also when they are pre-owned.
Models like the Volkswagen Polo and Polo Vivo make the top ten list of both categories, with the Polo actually leading the used cars list.
Among the used cars, Ford Ranger comes second with Mercedes Benz C-Class completing the top 3.

According to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA), new vehicle sales recorded a 4.2% increase in December 2019 compared to December 2018. Total sales stood at 41,698 up from 40,020 units same month in 2018.
However, the year ended with an overall 2.5% decline, from 552,227 sales in 2018 to 536,626 in 2019.
