[tps_header]Millionaire businessman Sam Mshengu of logistics company Sam Holdings, was arrested by the Hawks in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga on Monday.
The flashy businessman’s citizenship was reportedly in question, with a probe by the Department of Home Affairs reportedly finding out he is a Zimbabwean who acquired South African citizenship illegally.
According to Citizen, Sam’s real surname may actually be Chabalala, and no one is quite sure where he came from.
The 27 year old is accused of attempting to bribe his way out of an arrest. He allegedly offered a Home Affairs official R40,000 “to destroy reports of a fraudulently obtained South African identity document against him”.

When The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crimes Investigation unit ambushed him, they found an unlicensed firearm in his vehicle, a green Mercedes-Benz. This is just one of the many luxury vehicles he owns and often flashes around.
In July this year, he turned up in a convoy of 72 cars at the Durban July, but it emerged that only 10 of the cars were his. Sam has however boasted that his logistic company owns over 50 trucks.
