Ndlovu Youth Choir Eliminated from America’s Got Talent
Despite a very impressive run, South African phenomenon Ndlovu Youth Choir have been eliminated from America’s Got Talent, in the final show.
The Limpopo based choir gave their final performance in the last episode, which was a moving tribute to Africa. They were the first African contestants on the show to reach the finals.
The choir did not secure enough public votes, and in the live finale held on Tuesday night, they were eliminated ahead of the top 5 acts.
The youth choir had often missed out on the public vote, and often relied on the judges to keep them in the running.
The eventual winner ended up being Kodi Lee, a 22 year old singer who is blind and has autism. He took home $1 million and headlining shows across several cities.
Despite not taking home the prize, the South Africans are upbeat, saying this is just the beginning.
”Our @AGT journey may have come to an end but this is only the beginning. We are so excited for what lies ahead and we look forward to continuing sharing love, unity and above all hope.” the group wrote on Twitter.
