Joseph Shabalala Funeral Date and Details Announced
South Africa and the world are mourning the death of a music icon.
Joseph Shabalala died on Tuesday morning at Life Eugene Marais Hospital in Pretoria. He succumbed to complications brought about by a back surgery that had also left him wheelchair-bound 3 years ago.
The Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder left a huge name in music, but his group lives on.
Funeral arrangements have been put in place, and it is only reasonable that many of his fans will want the details.
Speaking to Channel24, Ladysmith Black Mambazo manager Xolani Majozi revealed that the funeral will take place on Ladysmith on 22 February 2020. The venue and time will be revealed later, but Xolani stated that it will be open to the public.
There are also memorial services being planned in Joburg and Cape Town, whose details will be announced in due course.
