AKA Receives Death Threats from Nigerians

[tps_header]AKA South AfricaRapper AKA has never been in Nigerians’ good books. He has made statements on social media that showed no love for the West Africans. For instance during the African Cup of Nations, he tweeted that it would have been better for Bafana Bafana to lose to Egypt than to Nigeria. He then went on to express how Nigerians beat us in everything.

This week when reports came in of xenophobic attacks in Gauteng, particularly targeting Nigerians, AKA walked straight to the centre of the storm. It would have been a perfect opportunity for him to sit this one out, but no.

Nigerian rapper YCee resurfaced AKA’s Afcon tweets, saying they showed a dislike for Nigerians.

”There is this subtle dislike that a lot of them (If not all) feel towards Nigerians and no matter how hard they try to hide it .. it eventually jumps out – like when AKA had a full childish grown man tantrum when they lost to Nigeria in the nations cup,” he wrote.

On his part, AKA replied with a picture of him wearing a Nigerian flag.

It was then that Burna Boy joined in and promised not to set foot in South Africa until the xenophobia is addressed.

He claimed to have personal xenophobic experiences at the hands of South Africans.

According to Times Live, Burna Boy then told AKA to beef up his security. That tweet has since been deleted.

It should be noted that AKA and Burna Boy once collaborated on the 2014 hit All Eyes On Me.
