Two People Connected To the Hoax Resurrection Arrested
Two people connected with the ‘fake’ resurrection performed by Pastor Alph Lukau of Alleluia Ministries International are to post bail after they were arrested and charged with fraud.
The pair, Nkululeko Dlamini and Silungisani Sibanda (a.k.a. Grace Ncube) were arrested on Tuesday and charged with three counts of fraud. They were required to appear before a magistrate in a Johannesburg court on Wednesday.
It is alleged that the two took part in the false resurrection of Brighton Moyo in February. Moyo ran back to his home Zimbabwe, his home country, shortly after the hoax resurrection. The media was hounding him.
Reports indicate that he succumbed to pneumonia this week.
The spokesperson to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Philip Louw-Mjonondanwe, on Tuesday afternoon confirmed the arrest of the two.
“They are in custody. They will be appearing in the Johannesburg magistrate’s court to apply for bail.”
Earlier, in March, the police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said that the SAPS was looking into three fraud cases in relation to the resurrection incident.
“One case was opened by a funeral parlour based here in Gauteng, another case was opened by people who said they were concerned citizens, and a third one was opened by pastor Mboro,” captain Masondo reported.
