Radio Presenter Xolani Gwala Has Died
Veteran radio presenter Xolani Gwala is dead. Xolani died at the age of 44, after losing a long battle with cancer.
In 2017, Xolani revealed on 702 radio that he had been diagnosed with colon cancer. “After thorough investigations, they found that I have colon cancer which was advanced. Quite advanced,” he told Stephen Grootes at the time.
He said that the diagnosis was quite sudden and unexpected. Xolani then went off-air briefly, before returning in August 2018, when he revealed that he was doing “very, very good.”
His family confirmed news of his death on 702.
Xolani has had a media career spanning more than 2 decades. He has worked as a news anchor, reporter, producer and talk show host on both radio and TV.
