Radio show producer Mello T dies at 35

 

The South African entertainment industry has been shocked by the passing away of radio show producer and Dj Mello T. Mello T died on Saturday 12th December after having been admitted to hospital on Wednesday 9th December. He was 35 years old.

The star was born in Willorale in 1985. He started his radio career in 2002 in Mthutha where he hosted an afternoon drive show on Unitra Community Radio. He also worked as a Dj in Mthatha and surrounding areas. Mello T moved to Bisho in 2007 where he worked on Tru Fm as a producer on various shows.

Recent years had seen him venture into music. Last year, he released a single called Sebenza. The song features Luthando Mzi. He described the timing of the song’s release as the right time for him to release his own sound, saying he had grown and matured in the music and entertainment industry.

In September 2020, he also released another single called Rayo Rayi featuring Olothando Ndamase. At the time of his passing, he was a breakfast show host on Tru Fm breakfast show. SABC released news on his passing but is yet to give an official statement.
