Phoenix Woman Found Murdered in Her Flat
On Monday, a physically challenged woman was found dead in her flat in Phoenix. Gareth Naidoo, KZN VIP Security personnel, reported that the woman’s throat had been slit.
The woman failed to respond to her neighbour’s calls forcing them to raise the alarm bell.
“When our officers arrived at the scene the woman’s house was locked,” Naidoo told reporters. “A window was slightly open and the officers saw the woman lying on the bed. They called out to her but she did not respond. The officers then broke down the door to gain entry into the home.”
Naidoo added that they headed to the bedroom where they found the woman’s lifeless body “Her throat had been slit and she was bleeding profusely. Officers contacted Phoenix SAPS for assistance.”
The woman is believed to be in her late 50s, and according to neighbours, she was wheelchair bound. She is also thought to have lived with a man.
Phoenix police have launched investigations.
