5 Dead in Limpopo Accident
On Friday morning, five people were killed in an accident that occurred between Haenertsburg and Moria in Limpopo. The head-on collision accident involved a bakkie and a light motor vehicle.
Paramedics arrived at the scene at around 7 am where they found both vehicles in the middle of the road and profoundly damaged, ER24 spokesman Russel Merring said.
“On closer inspection, paramedics found that the five occupants from the light motor vehicle, two women and three men, had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Three were found lying inside the vehicle while another lay a few metres away. The fifth patient was found lying underneath the vehicle.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on the scene.”
After an assessment was done, a woman was found in the driver’s seat of the bakkie. “Assessments showed that she had sustained several injuries and was in a critical condition.”
The woman was removed from the vehicle and served with the first aid before she was taken to Mediclinic Tzaneen for further treatment.
Further investigations are ongoing to extract more information about this incident.
