Kelly Khumalo Calls Out Minister Nathi Mthethwa

Songstress Kelly Khumalo is agitated by the government’s inaction in catering for the needs of artists despite having been greatly affected by the Covid pandemic. Taking to Twitter, Kelly questioned if the Sports, Arts and Culture minister could not see the plight of the entertainers or he simply did not care.

So @NathiMthethwaSA sees nothing wrong with what’s happening to artists and the entertainment industry at large? Oh I forgot he doesn’t care…..🐆 good morning everyone ❤️

The singer made a joke that they should move into the minister’s house as he did not cater for their needs as he should.

Last month, Minister Nathi Mthwethwa had been asked to resign from his post by Theatre practitioners and artists. This followed his posting a tweet that offended them and also his inaction in catering for their financial needs during the Covis 19 recession.

This is not the first time Kelly Khumalo is calling out the minister. Last year, the Empini hitmaker took to social media to ask government about her share of the R150 million Covid-19 relief fund for artists. The songstress complained to Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa about being in the dark about the promised relief fund. Kelly shared a video on Instagram where she poured out her grievances to Mthethwa and government.

“Just before I go gym in the garden, I realised I had a very important question to ask the government and Department of Sports, Arts and Culture. I looked in my bank account and I don’t see anything.”
