Isibaya is coming to an end on Mzansi Magic, and the channel will never be the same as viewers are set to miss their much-loved faces on the show. The show has had a 7 year run but is now set to be replaced by a new show called ‘Diepsloot’
Mzansi Magic has pulled a plug on the show following a steady decline in its ratings over the years. This implies that it was not doing well in terms of viewership.
The low ratings are a possible explanation for why many big names including Nomzamo Mbatha, Menzi Ngubane and Jessica Nkosi left the show over the years.
Sources close to the Isibaya family claimed that their exits were to do with finances and contractual disputes with Isibaya producers. The creators’ efforts to revive the show’s ratings by bringing in noticeable actors over the years failed.
Insiders also claim that the low ratings resulted in the failing to meet its worker’s salary demands.
