Hannes Van Der Walt was on Saturday crowned the 2020 Mister South Africa crown holder. The crowning was done through a virtual ceremony, with the organizers opting for a controlled and closed ceremony as a result of the ongoing Covid- 19 pandemic.
Here are 5 things you did not know about the newly crowned Mr South Africa 2020.
- He is married and with kids. Hannes Van Der Walt is a father of two teenagers, a girl called Leane and a boy called Jovan. He is married to Natasha.

- He places a lot of importance on family and hopes to use his platform to raise better men and Dads. This way South Africa will be made a better place.
- Both his father and father in law are involved in the Ministry.
- He is a philanthropist. During the 2020 pandemic, Hannes started a Non- Profit Initiative that focuses on providing food to unprivileged children who aren’t receiving food anymore.

“I have an great passion for families, I grew up with an awesome dad, as a result I am able to be a good father to my own children,” he said.
He also stated that healthy families are based on good mental, spiritual and physical health.
“We are all mind, body and soul and I believe if we keep track of all three of those, we will have healthy families,” Hannes Van Der Walt said in the interview.
The contest saw De Villiers Koster taking the runner-up position and Lee Jordan Jacobs being placed third.
