Pearl Thusi Now Aiming for an Oscar
Less than 2 weeks before the much anticipated Netflix original, Queen of Sono starring Pearl Thusi, the Mzansi actress is already aiming higher.
The Academy season ended last week, and with it came a lot of buzz in Hollywood. Every actor worth his/her salt is always looking for recogntion from peers, and Pearl is no different.
After making her name on the small screen, the 31 year old thinks she can do better on the large screen.
She recenty expressed her desire to take home show business’ most coveted trophy, an Academy award.
“What if I won an Oscar at the 100th Academy Awards… What if nje… asiphupheni ma-eh. Your dreams are valid yazi..” she tweeted lifting a quote from Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o, who became the first black African actress to win an Oscar in 2014.
The 2020 Oscars were the 92nd, which means Pearl is hoping to take home the trophy 7 years from now.
