While there, Klopp went out for a meal at a local restaurant, and by complete chance bumped into Springboks captain Siya Kolisi and Proteas Test skipper Faf du Plessis.
You can imagine the shock on Kolisi when one of the most famous people in football approached him, recognized him and congratulated him for their success at the World Cup finals. Moreover, he told them that he actually watched the game.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Kolisi said,
“He came and greeted every single person at the table and spoke to me for over 40 minutes. When I saw him I fell off my chair!
“Everyone around me didn’t understand but I’ve got huge respect for him.
“He said he knew who I was and that he watched the final.”
Kolisi added that this encounter was one of the highlights of his life.
What made the moment even more memorable was that Kolisi is a huge Liverpool fan.
