Suspended ANC spokesman Pule Mabe is back in the news, this time suing his former personal assistant Kgoerano Kekana for fraud. According to News24, Mabe is accusing Kekana of misrepresenting her academic qualifications when she applied for her position.
A few months ago, Kekana accused Mabe of sexual harassment during the duration when she worked for him. It was however reported then that ANC party had cleared Mabe, and he was expected to return to work ‘soon’.
At that time, Kekana put out a statement expressing her dissatisfaction with the conclusion. “I feel the outcome was not fair on my side. I feel that my case, to a large extent, has been politicised to an extent that my pain was overlooked.” she wrote.
It is therefore curious to many observers why Mabe has waited until now to lay charges on his former PA.
However, he has stated that these new charges served as part of his defense during the internal ANC hearing. He claims that Kekana’s ‘spite’ has its origin from the time he discovered her fraudulent credentials and cut her salary. He adds that there is no truth to Kekana’s claims that he had tried to force himself onto her twice.
