Tshatha Suspended For Accusing Ukhozi FM Management Of Fraudulence

Ukhozi FM presenter, Khathide “Tshatha” Ngobe, has been suspended after he accused the station of corrupt and fraudulent activities. Last week, Tshatha disclosed that he and Ukhozi FM management had conspired in 2005 to cheat Shwi Nomtekhala’s Ngafa.

“Shwi Nomtekhala won the competition, but Malaika’s 2Bob was named the winner and Shwi was placed second,” he said on Facebook.

SABC delivered the news through their acting spokeswoman Mmoni Seapolela. He confirmed that indeed he had been suspended but said he could not discuss details of the investigations due to their contract.

“Mr Khathide Ngobe is still unscheduled pending an internal investigation. It concerns the SABC and Mr Khathide and the details of the investigation will not be explicitly discussed in the public space due to a contractual relationship,” he said.

Mmoni concluded that the outcome of the investigation would be communicated directly with the concerned parties in line with SABC’s policies.

“Once the investigation is completed, the corporation will communicate directly with the individual concerned and relevant stakeholders. The SABC and Ukhozi FM would like to conclude the investigation in line with set internal processes and policies,” she said.

This is not the first instance that Tshatha’s social media conduct has landed him in hot water with Ukhozi’s management team. Early last year, a Facebook user accused Tshata of taking a strong liking to Maskandi artist, Khuzani Mpungose which prompted Tshata to retaliate. Another Facebook fan got Tshata’s blood boiling after inquiring about SABC’s latest scandal between Owen Ndlovu and Ukhozi FM, with regards to the song of the year saga.
