VIDEO: Expensive Accident as Ferrari Collides with Bakkie in Cape Town
Accidents are a daily occurrence in South Africa, but as much as they happen, we try as much as possible to minimize the cost.
It’s never a good thing for your pocket when you cause an accident, but it’s an outright terrible thing to get involved in one while driving a Ferrari.
A clip that has been shared on Facebook shows an accident involving the supercar and what appears to be a utility bakkie. The accident took place on Somerset road in Green Point on Saturday afternoon.
In the 13-second video, a Toyota Etios is seen making a U-Turn on the road, followed shortly by the Chevrolet bakkie. Before the bakkie had completed the turn, a Ferrari enters the scene, too fast to stop and avoid impact.
The sports-car hits the side of the bakkie and crashes into a bush.
The Ferrari is the 488 GT launched in South Africa in 2015 with a starting price of R4.2 million. It can reportedly accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3 seconds.
It is unclear whether there were any injuries from the accident.
