Lulu Haarmans has reportedly been shown the door at Umhlobo Wenene.
SABC confirmed firing Lulu, who presented the mid-morning show, Khanya Gqiyazana.
“The SABC can confirm that it has terminated the contract of Ms Lulu Haarmans, who presented the mid-morning show, Khanya Gqiyazana,” SABC spokesperson Vuyo Mthembu said.
The reasons for her firing are hard to come by, but according to some sources, misconduct was the reason.
Apparently, Lulu was scheduled to be an MC in the Hats & Heals women’s event, but failed to show up. Instead, she was found heavily intoxicated.
SABC however will not divulge the reasons why they booted her.
“The SABC is not in a position to go into the details as this was a matter between the SABC and Ms Haarmans. The station will make an announcement in due course as to who will present the mid-morning show,” Mthembu said.
Until the station appoints a replacement, Sibongile James will fill in.
