CT Stadium Finalist at Event of the Year Award

CAPE TOWN – Cape Town stadium has been named a finalist in this year’s Event of the Year award.

The event of the year award is given to the most outstanding stadium globally each year during the Stadium Business Summit in the UK.

They are the only awards for the industry and were launched to recognize achievement, fresh thinking, and innovation in the world of sports

The awards were launched to raise the standards of sports venues by bringing professionalism and self-awareness to the industry. The Cape Town stadium is a standard stadium which is beyond many stadiums in developed countries like Russia, US, Australia, Spain, and England.

The executive mayor of Cape Town Dan Plato is pleased that the Cape Town Stadium is up for the prestigious event of the year award. In particular, for the hosting of HSBC Cape Town Sevens event.

“Having developed a strong track record as the world’s leading festival and destination, Plato says the shortlisting is a testament to the city’s ability to host high-quality events.” Cape Town’s Lydon Khan said of the nomination.

This year’s ceremony will be held at Emirate Old Trafford on 4 June in Manchester.
